Beige Chinos

Beige chinos are the most versatile neutral bottom in a man's wardrobe — they work with dark tops, earthy tones, and almost any shade of blue. The colour is warm enough to complement Indian skin tones naturally, and the chino silhouette sits between jeans and formal trousers, which means they can go further in both directions. The only trap is looking washed out — which is entirely about what you put on top.

Our take on beige chinos

Fabric

Midweight cotton-twill between 200-260gsm. Anything lighter loses its structure by afternoon; anything heavier becomes uncomfortable in Indian heat. Avoid polyester blends — they wrinkle without the breathability that makes wrinkles forgivable.

Durability

Beige fades subtly and evenly over time, which actually works in its favour. Cold wash inside out and hang in shade. Avoid high-heat drying — cotton-twill shrinks and the waistband warps.

Look for

  • flat front for a cleaner silhouette
  • reinforced belt loops
  • a fabric that holds its shape at the knee after a full day of sitting

Avoid

Chinos that are too loose through the thigh — beige already reads casual, and extra volume at the leg makes it read sloppy. Slim or straight is the working fit range.

Don't wear to

Anything outdoors in monsoon or anywhere with heavy dust — light chinos show marks immediately and beige is unforgiving about it.
